INS-BU

INS-BU, New and ULTRA Low-Cost, U-Blox Based, Single Antenna GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation System

Paeonian Springs, VA: The new INS-BU is a high-performance strapdown system that determines position, velocity, and absolute orientation to any mounted platform. It utilizes a cost-effective, single-antenna U-Blox GNSS receiver that provides a 1 cm RTK position from RTCM3 RTK corrections and supports a wide range of GNSS constellations. Unlike other solutions, the INS-BU comes right off the shelf with full access to all significant constellations and frequencies: GPS L1/L2, GLO L1/L2, GAL E1/E5, BDS B1/B2, and QZSS L1/L2. Designed for UAVs, Land Vehicles, and Marine Vessels, the INS-BU is a practical, low-cost solution that uses various aiding data for different applications. With highly accurate navigation in GNSS-denied environments (utilizing the enhanced Tunnel Guide algorithm), the INS-BU delivers a comprehensive GNSS-denied solution at an unmatched price point.

One of the critical elements to the INS-BU’s success is its miniAHRS, which utilizes 3-axes of precision magnetometers, accelerometers, and gyroscopes to provide an orientation of the device under the measure. It contains cutting-edge algorithms for the motion of robots, unmanned and autonomous vehicles, and antennas. The miniAHRS mini fluxgate magnetometers have a distinct advantage over commonly used magneto-inductive or magneto-resistive alternatives and have been a trusted North reference for over 70 years.

The INS-BU provides a total navigation solution for both GNSS and GNSS-denied environments at an unparalleled value. With custom interfaces and a power consumption of two and a half Watts, the INS-BU is a versatile solution for many users with power consumption restrictions. In addition, the INS-BU contains the following:

  • Our onboard sensor fusion filter.
  • State-of-the-art navigation.
  • Guidance algorithms.
  • Calibration software.

The onboard ZED-F9P receiver ensures the security of positioning and navigation information by using secure interfaces and advanced jamming and spoofing detection technologies.
